During July and August the many wildflowers throughout the state of Alaska shoot up and bloom profusely. With the great amount of rain and many hours of daylight - sometimes 22 - the short growing season is naturally accelerated. These flowers are contained in a State Park but grow wild and naturally all over the forest. This photo was taken the third week of August when they were are their most beautiful. Getting to the field was a 2 hour walk from any civilization.
