The wooden sign from the only Cafe/Bar in Hope, Alaska. The small village was founded many years ago as a trapping town and has since only contained its 10 or so houses and stores. While only a few miles from Anchorage as the crow flies, it takes several hours to reach it because you must drive all around Cook Inlet. Cook Inlet is unique because it is one of the bodies of water where difference between high and low tide is the largest. Actually at low tide you can walk across the inlet.
