Altman - November 1984 II - Central Park Series

Artwork Cost: $195.00
This is an Artist's Proof
Inventory #: RM-003
As Harold Altman matured in his work he concentrated more on the beauty in America. He would still visit his printmakers in Paris every year but his subjects became more Americanized. Throughout the 1980's he created a series of his impressions of Central Park in New York City. This one was created in 1984 as a fall scene of a couple walking through the park. Altman's style and subtle use of shades and shadows form the trees are used to his fullest talent on this piece. Click the photo to the right for a larger view and other photo.

This is an Artist's Proof. The print is framed and museum matted in off-white to 19" x 16". Artists proof are usually the first 5-10 pieces that come from the printmakers after the color has been approved. Often the artist will keep these examples for their own use. Altman has not only signed and named this work in pencil; but also has handwritten out Artist Proof is his own hand.
